Copyright law – everything to do with free speech, nothing to do with protecting art and artists. Its the monetization of speech and ideas. What is “heat” exactly? What are we referring to? The Wikipedia page on heat is unsure. On the left the scientists use the verb “to heat” depicting the transfer of thermal energy from one thing to another, but on the right the flashy photo describes “heat from the sun” as though “heat” were a thing to be passed. Everything relies on physics. It is the forefront of human knowledge and discovery. The deepest study into understanding our universe is the study of physics, after all, we’re in a physical universe. (more…)
I saw something on Discovery once that blew me away. They had a triangular object that could work exactly like a wheel. They placed two of these rounded triangles on a table spaced apart with a flat board laid on top. To my amazement the board could be pulled back and forth on top of the rolling triangles and had no up or down movement. (more…)
Life is just a dreamt up man made categorization. What “life” refers to is something we need psychologically to reassure us we’re somehow more intentional than a rock falling off a mountain. But sadly, we are no different than the rock. The systems that govern the animate and inanimate are identical (more…)
Live in a cold climate, a common cityscape has tall buildings shooting steam up into the sky during extreme cold to vent pressure in their heating systems. Solutions? Build a green roof, seal the structure in for winter, and heat it with the excess steam during cold snaps. You could also process and feed the energy back into the building. Maybe have it turn a small generator that charges the boss’s laptop. (more…)

Well, there cant just be a wall out there at some great distance on the other side of which is nothing, cause hey, if its got an other side then that’s something. So people like to theorize that if you traveled in one direction long enough you would eventually get back to where you started. Fine, but how the hell can you travel infinitely in (more…)
It’s pretty simple, mankind is already straining our farmland to grow enough food to feed everyone. People are still starving, food costs continue to rise. Mankind is also extremely dependent on fuel. Other than maybe air and water, i can’t think of something humans consume more of than food and fuel. Filling cars with biofuels would basically group our two most demanded commodities onto one production source. Its preposterous. (more…)
Here’s a good question. Children obviously get a hold of batteries since they run so many toys. According to the battery makers, these things “may explode or leak”. If we were giving something this dangerous to children wouldn’t it need CSA, or ASA approval or something? Batteries don’t need the approval of a safety organization because they do not contain anything dangerous.
Repeatedly disposing of everyday alkaline batteries is completely unnecessary. Its a perfect example of misleading the public in the interests of profit. (more…)
